Hibbard Smith,

May 19, 1943 - December 25, 2011

Hibbard T. Smith, Jr., age 68, of Bethany, passed away on December 25, 2011. He was born on May 19, 1943, to the late Ilean Smith and Hibbard T. Smith, Sr. in Rochester, NY. Mr. Smith spent his working career employeed by UNISYS and then NASDAQ. He retired as Associated Vice President, Software Services, Telecommunications, Technical Services. He enjoyed working with computers and sailing his Cal 28 sailboat on Long Island Sound. As a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary, Flotilla 24-3, in Milford, he served as Instructor and Vice Commander. Mr. Smith was also on the Auxillary National Staff serving as Director of the C (Computer) Department. He is survived and missed by his wife Judith Smith, sister JoAnne Alliet, daughter Lorene Keller and her husband Fran, son Hibbard T. Smith, III, and four grandchildren. Memorial gifts in Hibbard's memory may be made to the Coast Guard Auxillary, the Griffin Hospital or to the Mystic Seaport.
